writing.

As a scholar of religious sciences I am invested in conflictstudies in the field of religion and I am particularly involved in Indonesian history and colonial discourse. My ideologies have sprung from my own sex, mixed race and spiritual convictions. I am committed to actively contribute to a society that listens to repressed voices and strives for human rights equality. Decolonisation therefore, is a central theme in my writings and inquiries. I deem self-reflexivity a highest good and aim to facilitate an academic space in which all positions are taken into consideration.

laten we liefde

In 2020 I published the poetry novel  laten we liefde. In laten we liefde I write about love in an era that is marked by modern challenges. How performance pressure, materialistic means and technology contribute to the relational bumps in the road.

The poems contain Dutch proza, and vary from roundel to haiku and sonnet in a modern context, and aim to entice young and old to the world of linguistic arts in a satiric and moving way.

LATEN WE LIEFDE

Laten we liefde –  als ik aan je denk
Dan zie ik torens van gesponnen suiker
En kristal geplaveide wegen
In mijn schitterende verbeelding

Zeg ik – laten we liefde
Ik wacht al honderd jaar op jou
Dat doe ik zo nog honderd jaar opnieuw
Voor briljante dromen heb ik plaats genoeg

Laten we liefde – op mijn lege canvas
Staat jouw naam in kleur geschilderd
Van zoete melk naar hete peper
Ik ben voor jou het leven trouw
